Covid has affected students worldwide in different ways. We, as U.S. citizens, do not see the difficulty of going to school in a foreign country. However, specifically for Chinese students, their travel to get here is a long process. When Covid began, students who lived in the U.S. went home. The Spring Semester started at Union online, and everyone went on with their lives. However, Chinese students made difficult decisions when Covid began and even to this day, some are feeling isolated from school and our society. Some difficulties students in China encounter is China’s internet access rules(规定gui4 ding4) forced students to obtain a Union VPN to access classes and platforms used by professors. This report collects interviews with international Chinese students at Union and how Union College can improve their experience if such an event reoccurs.
