The Yates House was built in 1725, making it one of the oldest existing Dutch homes in the nation. The house is located in Schenectady's Stockade neighborhood. While additions were made throughout the added in the 1800s and 1900s, it features elements of traditional Dutch architecture, such as being 1½ to 2 stories, a porch under overhanging eaves, stone facing on the lower level of the home, and a gable-end chimney.
