Dams in the Adirondacks

by Jacob Abbott

Purpose:

The purpose of my project is to take an in-depth look at some of the present and historic dams in the Adirondacks. Dams are very important to the park and have held a defining place in its history. I hope this website can be a resource to those interested and with your help, we can continue to update this growing project.

We need your help collecting more information about dams in the Adirondacks! Click the link above to add any images or pictures you have.

About:

Here's a bit about the Project. Below you can check out the interactive map showing 511 dams in the Adirondacks as well as the older proof of concept I started with. You can also navigate to more information about each dam based on which county it is in. If you don't know the county the entire list is available in the table of contents. You can also submit more information or images by following the link above if you would like like to have them included. This project is made to evolve and grow so anything you have is helpful.
